CSWWC 2020

Competitions are tough, but the Champagne and Sparkling WIne World Championships declare themselves to be the toughest. Effervescent wines from around the globe are judged against each other and this year over 1,000 fizzes were put through their paces. Including ours.

I am proud to say that – overall – the UK came third  out of all the fizz nations, which is brilliant given that we are relative newcomers to the Sparkling wine world and both France and Italy have some wine-making history.

I am delighted to announce that Ambriel has two silver medals: one for the Ambriel Rose 2014, and one for the newly-released Ambriel Blanc de Noirs 2015. We gladly add them to the family silver. It is a tribute to our wine-maker – what a sterling effort.

Congratulations to all medal winners – wherever you are in the world, We salute you. 2020 has had its  tiresome inconveniences, but it is wonderful to be able to celebrate a little joy. Now, which one to pour first …
