We like to let you know what’s going on in the vineyard. After a chilly early part of the year, and a slow start to the vines, they are now making up for lost time.
All this magnificent sunshine and warmth has encouraged them to romp away. They have flowered and reached fruit set. Huzzah! This gives us the first peek at the baby grapes that will become this year’s harvest. They are adorable.
So we’re trimming the vines to persuade them to focus on developing the baby grapes rather than growing tall. We’re also stripping the leaves to let light and air into the canopy. Each little bunch needs its own sunbeam. That’s what makes wine liquid sunshine.
We’ll keep a close eye on these baby grapes and we’ll let you know how they get along.
You’ll hear it on the grapevine. How else?
