LOVE WINE FOOD
Many of you will already be familiar with https://lovewinefood.com and their vineyard tours that wend across the wine world. Fortunately Cindy-Marie Harvey has a wonderful palate for both food and wine. Her book shares some of her fabulous pairings from the best of the English countryside. Let’s face it, the perfect tipple needs the perfect nibble.
WATERCRESS WILLOW AND WINE
Watercress Willow and Wine is full of stunning illustrations by Chloe Robertson Chloes Office. These wonderful, whimsical drawings show the recipes, the vineyards, helpful maps, and – most importantly – the dogs. We are very proud to see our own Bertie and Bosun there looking so handsome.
SO ENGLISH!
Here at Ambriel HQ we love the Piedmont-inspired creation chosen to match our Ambriel English Reserve. Spoiler Alert – It is Strawberry Ice cream & Amaretti Kisses. Its so simple, even I can manage to make it, and it tastes absolutely divine. What could be more quintessentially English than Strawberries and (ice)cream with that naughty amaretti twist? As heart-quickeningly as a Summer romance and just as fleeting. Seize them before they melt and the moment is lost. I remember wandering around the vineyard with Cindy Marie on a blissful sunny day, listening to bees buzz, birds sing and bubbles burble. Honestly, these exquisite little delicacies would have been the only thing that could possibly have improved such a perfect day.
WHY DOES IT WORK?
Cindy-Marie knows her stuff you know. Wine and ice-cream is a notoriously tough pairing, but it really does work. Here’s why:
‘Ambriel’s English Reserve is an explosion of Summer fruits in the glass, so perfectly echoed by both the strawberries and the raspberries in this recipe – and the sweet almond biscuit balances the autolytic notes of this glorious Demi-Sec.’
Drooling yet?
