The Blanc de Noirs is here – and its the most wonderful time of the year.
What is a Blanc de Noirs?
As good fizzerrati know, Blanc de Noirs is a white Sparkling Wine made from black grapes. We squeeze them so gently – its basically a cuddle, really – that the juice doesn’t pick up any colour from the grape skins. It doesn’t go pink – it stays white and twinkly!
Although we don’t really approve of using french terms for English wines, we’re not sure anyone would understand us if we referred to ‘White from Black’ – so Blanc de Noirs it is.
Merry Fizzmas!
This velvet indulgence of a Sparkling wine was made from 98% Pinot Noir and a sprinkle of Pinot Meunier harvested in 2016. It has been patiently evolving on the bottle less for over 5 years. It is a rich, round wine, brimming with fruitfulness. So fizztive! Its obviously destined to be sipped by the fireplace, as the winter chills, flames lick logs and dogs snuggle. It matches the Christmas feast perfectly. There’s no better partner for a goose, and its so delicious you’ll stretch your mince pies.
Be quick!
As with all good things, sadly stocks are limited. You don’t need the speed of Santa, and you don’t need to go sashing through the snow, but don’t dilly-dally if you want to be sure to secure a bottle. If you need some Christmas stocking, don’t let the snow melt under your feet.
Serving Suggestion
Best with family and friends. (Great for New Year too!)
