Blanc de Blancs 2010
‘My goodness, it’s good’ – Johnny Ray
After a 7 year wait we are delighted to release the Ambriel Blanc de Blancs 2010. This is the first wine in respect of which we have declared a vintage. It is crafted from hand-selected Burgundian clones of Chardonnay from our own vineyards. It has been nurtured in the bottle for 5.5 years and rested on the cork for 10 months. There are only about 4,000 bottles in existence. This refined Sparkling wine is delicious with a quintessential English elegance and a citrus zip.

Jamie Goode of wineanorak: ‘11% alcohol. From south-facing slopes in the South Downs. This is really good: there’s just a slight lift to the intense citrussy nose, with an apple twist and some subtle toast. The palate shows herby, spicy complexity with ripe apple and fresh citrus notes, finishing with keen acidity. There’s a lovely mineral core to this wine. Great focus. 91/100
International Wine Challenge: ‘Mature malty, nutty notes underpin a baked apple fruit. dry and spicy with remarkable power’
